THE BRITISH LIBRARY:
In early 2021, Tomistoma was contacted by James Tugwell, an acquisitions officer at the British Library's Sound And Moving Image (SAMI) archive, asking for permission to catalogue the band's back-catalogue for posterity. As James says: "We catalogue, archive and preserve music as part of the nation's audio and cultural heritage. Part of my job is to hunt out the smaller labels and musicians releasing things themselves. Often this is some of the most interesting and creative stuff out there and it enriches and expands the national collection, one of our main aims. Time constraints etc. mean I can’t ask everybody so I have to be selective and try and get a selection of the best music I can. Bandcamp is very helpful for that: it’s set up very nicely for wandering in interesting areas." You can find out more about the British Library and enjoy their vast collections and resources at
